Abstract:
Chinese medicine holds that the onset of pulmonary nodules is closely related to dysfunction of yang qi. Disharmony of the zang-fu organs, impaired function of yang qi, and the accumulation of phlegm, dampness, blood stasis, and toxin in the pulmonary collaterals constitute important pathogenesis for the development of pulmonary nodules. Based on the theory of "where there is hardness and pain, there must be hidden yang," this paper proposes that the "hardness and pain" attribute of pulmonary nodules is highly consistent with the "hidden yang" pathological state formed by yang qi deficiency and stagnation, and systematically explores the TCM pathogenesis evolution and clinical pattern identification and treatment approaches for pulmonary nodules. It constructs a core pathogenesis system for pulmonary nodules characterized by "yang deficiency as the root," "yang stagnation as the pivot," and "stagnant fire as the transformation," and establishes the treatment principles of warming yang and transforming qi, unblocking yang and promoting qi movement, and clearing and resolving stagnant fire to treat the root, while resolving phlegm and eliminating blood stasis to treat the manifestations. A medical record is also attached as supporting evidence, providing reference for the clinical treatment of pulmonary nodules.
