| 强直性脊柱炎是临床上一种高致残、高致畸率的慢性炎症性骨病，发病早期常因腰背部疼痛、僵硬感等非特异性症状被忽视。“阳病治阴”乃阴阳失调状态的治法之一。卢敏教授认为，强直性脊柱炎常督弱肾亏，内生阴邪，阴缠督阳，阳不胜阴，故阴阳失调，发病常兼糅寒、瘀、痰、湿阴之实邪。治则治法上，标实为盛除阴邪，本虚为主培督肾，同时辨阴证施以散寒、通瘀、蠲痰、逐湿之法化散阴毒，临证每获良效，可谓驱散阴邪以复督回阳以达“阳病治阴”之意。附验案1则以当参阅。 |

| Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory bone disease with high rates of disability and deformity, which is often disregarded because of its early nonspecific symptoms, such as the lumbar and back pain and stiffness. "Treating yang disease by regulating yin" is one of the cures for the imbalance of yin and yang. Professor LU Min believes that AS often involves weakness in the Du meridian and deficiency in the kidney, leading to the internal formation of yin pathogenic factors. These factors entangle the yang of the Du meridian, resulting in yang failing to check yin, thus causing an imbalance between yin and yang. Hence, the disease often involves cold, static blood, phlegm, and dampness, which are yin excess pathogens. In terms of therapeutic principles and methods, when the excessive manifestations are predominant, the focus is on eliminating yin pathogenic factors; when the deficient root prevails, the focus is on strengthening the Du meridian and tonifying the kidney; and specific treatments are simultaneously selected to dispel cold, resolve blood stasis, eliminate phlegm, or remove dampness according to pattern identification, aiming to dissipate the yin toxicity. This approach often yields good results in clinical practice, and it, which restores the normal function of the Du meridian and resuscitates yang by dissipating yin pathogenic factors, embodies the principle of "treating yang disease by regulating yin".
